Slideshow: St. Andrew Catholic School hosts Pumpkin Party

St. Andrew Catholic School hosted its annual Pumpkin Party on Friday Oct. 29, 2010.

The preschool students and their families dressed head to toe in a variety of Halloween costumes. The children ate nachos and hot dogs, while playing a variety of themed games and activities such as bean bag tosses, putt-putt golf and pumpkin decorating.

Dalia Smith, head parent volunteer, said the tradition of the Pumpkin Party started about 11 years ago when parents thought that the preschoolers needed an event for them.

Fall Festival is a fundraiser St. Andrew hosts at the beginning of October. “The Fall Festival is more for the older kids," Smith said. "The little kids need something with activities for them."

The Pumpkin Party is not just for the little ones of St. Andrew. It also provides service hours for the seventh-graders and eighth-graders. The older kids can come in and volunteer by serving food or running activities to complete their required service hours, Smith said.
