Zoo’s Beastro to showcase Fort Worth restaurants, music

The Fort Worth Zoo’s eighth annual Beastro event is on its way.

The Zoo will host the food tasting and music event, which showcases fine area restaurants, starting at 7:30 p.m. on June 13.

Beastro is one of the organization’s major fundraisers, and proceeds benefit the Zoo’s local and international wildlife conservation efforts. Approximately 2,000 people are expected to attend.

“This year’s event features food from some of Fort Worth’s finest or most eclectic restaurants, as well as open bars or live music,” said Alexis Wilson, communications director for the Zoo. Booths stationed around the zoo will serve sample-sized appetizers, entrees and desserts.

Some of the event’s participants include Bonnell’s and Waters restaurants, AVOCA Coffee, Max’s Wine Dive, Pacific Table and Terra Mediterranean Grill. All of the restaurants are located in Fort Worth.

“This year’s entertainment headliner is The Romantics, an 80’s band known for hits such as ‘What I Like About You’ and ‘Talking in Your Sleep,’” Wilson said.

Tickets are on sale now through noon Friday, June 13.

General admission tickets are $99 per person and VIP tickets cost $150 per person. Tickets include all food, drinks and entertainment. Guests must be 21 years or older to attend, and zoo members save $10.
