Police are investigating a possible altercation between Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel and his ex-girlfriend, who attends TCU.

Fort Worth police responded to a call at the Berkeley Luxury Apartment Homes around 2 a.m. about a “possible assault” involving Manziel and a 23-year-old female, according to a press release from Fort Worth police. The reported assault occurred while the two were in Dallas earlier in the evening.

While the report did not name the female, Manziel was previously known to be dating Colleen Crowley, a general studies student at TCU.

According to the release, “the preliminary investigation determined that a possible assault had occurred in that jurisdiction or multiple jurisdictions.” However, “the complainant was uncooperative with officers on scene, and they were unable to locate a crime scene within the Fort Worth jurisdiction.”

The female also told police she was worried about Manziel’s well-being. Fort Worth police then called Manziel and used the department’s helicopter to search for him. They later determined that Manziel was safe.

Fort Worth and Dallas police are still investigating the incident.

This is the second time Manziel has been involved in a domestic dispute. In October, police questioned Manziel and Crowley in Ohio after the two reportedly were fighting while their vehicle was pulled over on the side of the road. Police let them go in that incident.

Manziel was a star quarterback at Texas A&M University and the first freshman to ever win the Heisman Trophy. He was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the first round of the 2014 NFL draft, but he has struggled with off-the-field issues ever since.
