TCU equestrian falls to Oklahoma State to end fall season

The No. 8 TCU equestrian team lost to the No. 6 Oklahoma State 13-6 Nov. 10.

“Although the win column didn’t show it, we did ride much better as a team at this meet,” director of equestrian Haley Schoolfield said. “We had a rigorous fall schedule with a lot of tough road meets.”

Starting off in Fences, senior Jayme Omand won the lone point for TCU on her horse, Ginger.

In Flat, the Frogs earned two more points, with senior Carley Barnett and senior Mady Fithian winning their rides. Fithian’s ride on Milton earned her a score of 87 and her second MOP accolade.

In Horsemanship, sophomore Laska Anderson won the lone point for the Frogs on Chili. , earning a score of 76 against Sarah Miller of OSU’s 74.5 on Chili. It seemed sophomore Cydney Benes won her point, but it ended in a tie.

In Reining, sophomore Carly Lombard earned her point with a score of 73. Freshman Adrianna Adams also won her point, closely beating OSU’s Julia Purus 67.5-67.

“We learned a lot, and grew a lot as a team, ” Schoolfield said.  “We are looking forward to polishing this up and putting it to the test in the spring.”

The Horned Frogs are finished for the fall season. Their next ride is against Texas A&M at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo Jan. 25.
