White House receives letter from the whistleblower’s lawyer

The lawyer of the whistleblower at the heart of the ongoing impeachment inquiry has sent a letter to the White House as a warning to President Trump.

According to CNN, the lawyer told Trump to “cease and desist” attacking his client.

Trump has repeatedly attacked and discredited the whistleblower and called for their identity to be revealed.

Andrew Bakaj, the lawyer, said the whistleblower’s family faces threats of physical danger.

In his letter, he also criticized Trump for not having a firm understanding of the significance of his office and his actions.

A tweet from Bajak two days before the White House received his letter.

The whistleblower first revealed information that Trump secretly communicated with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate his 2020 political rival, former Vice President Joe Biden.

A former mayor of New York City, Michael Bloomberg, is considering throwing his hat in the 2020 presidential race, according to Fox News.

Bloomberg, who said he would not run for president earlier this year, is expected to file paperwork this week to run in Alabama’s Democratic presidential primary.

Bloomberg’s political adviser said he was concerned the current Democratic candidates are not “well-positioned” to beat President Trump.

Friday is the last day for candidates in Alabama to officially enter the presidential race.

U.S. surveillance camera vulnerable to hacking

The U.S. military has used surveillance equipment from Aventura Technologies for years, under the impression that these products were completely American-made.

According to the New York Times, however, a service member at an Air Force base in 2018 noticed Chinese characters on the screen of one of these cameras.

Federal prosecutors confirmed Thursday that the surveillance equipment was made in China, making it susceptible to hacking.

They then arrested six Aventura employees for conspiracy to commit wire fraud and illegal importation.

One more is expected to be arrested today, according to the New York Times.

Authorities are working to remove all Aventura products from government facilities.

Aventura technologies have been used in military aircraft carriers, energy facilities and gear.
