The curve of COVID-19 cases at TCU continued to flatten during the fourth week of the semester.

Total active cases fell to 138 from 244 over the week – the lowest total since Aug. 25.

Employee cases rose to 14 from 12 at the beginning of the week but came back down Thursday.

No one has been hospitalized due to COVID-19 since the school year began, according to the university’s dashboard.

Recoveries and isolation bed capacity increase

The number of recovered cases also increased by 219 over the week, rising to 939 from 720.

Isolation bed capacity was upgraded back to levels “above 65% or greater” earlier this week, according to the dashboard.

The capacity fell to 42% during the second week of classes, prompting an email from Vice Chancellor Kathy Cavins-Tull urging students to follow protocols.

Since that week, there has been no communication from university leadership on the COVID-19 webpage or via email about the spread of the coronavirus.
