Students with a sweet tooth have a new downtown venue to try.
La Bella Cupcakes creates custom deserts for all occasions, owner Elisha Lance said.
The cupcake shop opened in the Fort Worth Stockyards on July 2 of this year, and is owned and operated by Lance and her husband, Collin Lance. Lance said she decided to start the business because she enjoyed baking for friends and family.
“I love it,” she said. “It’s a passion of mine.”
Several local bakeries specialize in cupcakes, but Lance said La Bella has something new to bring to the community.
“We wanted to bring something awesomely beautiful to Fort Worth, something that could be used at a wedding and not just a child’s birthday party,” Lance said.
According to the La Bella website, the cupcakes are baked from scratch and can be customized in various ways.
More than 40 flavors are available at La Bella, and new flavors are created all the time. La Bella’s most unique flavor is maple bacon, Lance said. The cupcake is baked with diced bacon inside and topped with maple frosting.
“It’s your mom’s Saturday morning breakfast,” Lance said. “I’ve never had anyone try it and not like it.”
La Bella Cupcakes also invites patrons to choose new flavors on the bakery’s Facebook page.
Collin said this is a way to engage customers.
“You have to offer something different to get people to come back,” he said.
The bakery provides catering for all occasions, including weddings, baby showers, birthday parties and corporate events. Lance said cupcakes can be coordinated with any colors or themes.
“For any event that needs a dessert, we can make something for you,” she said.
Ordering is as easy as calling the catering line, Lance said. As an added bonus, anyone affiliated with the university receives a discount.
Orders can also be made in person or online; however, those taking advantage of the TCU discount should call or come by in person, Lance said.
