Kendall Morris, TCU broadcast journalism major, will compete tonight in the Miss America pageant.

Morris is a familiar face to many fellow Horned Frogs. Morris was the featured twirler for TCU and appeared on national television in two BCS bowls.

Morris was crowned Miss Texas in August of 2011 after beating out two other Horned Frogs in the competition.  Morris has spent the past semester representing the state of Texas.

During her time as Miss Texas, Morris received a $10,000 college scholarship and access to an Infiniti vehicle for one year.

Before the Miss America competition,  six contestants were recognized in the three night preliminary competition. Morris was one of those winners.

Miss Texas won for Lifestyle & Fitness on the second night of the preliminary competition.

If Morris is crowned Miss America 2012 she will travel approximately 20,000 miles a month. She will be changing her location every 18-36 hours in order to support several communities and charities (Miss America website).

Teresa Scanlan, Miss America 2011 (former Miss Nebraska) will crown tonight’s winner.

The Miss America pageant will air live tonight at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
