New student media leaders selected for fall semester

New student media leaders selected for fall semester

TCU Student Media elected new members to lead its four news programs for the fall 2012 semester.

Editor-in-chief of the TCU Daily Skiff will be sophomore journalism major Emily Atteberry.

“What I’m most excited about is the fact that student media is going to be changing a lot in this upcoming semester, so it will be exciting to see how the Skiff can integrate more online and more cutting edge things into our print publication,” Atteberry said.

Editor-in-chief of Image magazine will be sophomore journalism major Mary Muller.

“It’s probably going to be a bit of a challenge at first just because it’s my first leadership position in student media here, but I think that it will be a lot of fun and good work experience,” Muller said.

TCU News Now news director will be junior broadcast journalism major Landon Haaf.

“I expect it to be a learning experience as much as anything. This position will further my knowledge and experience in the leadership aspect of putting together a newscast,” Haaf said. “Journalism is a field that is always changing, so I expect to have a tenure that is hectic at times and to be faced with changes and challenges.”

Student media fall advertising director will be junior strategic communication major Allie Harrell.

“I’m most excited about the opportunity that I have to learn so much more about the advertising business and the ever-evolving media world,” Harrell said. “I am interested to see the direction that advertising is going to take with the changing shift to digital media.”
