Baseball: TCU shuts out Manhattan 11-0, completes series sweep

Josh Elander hit his second home run in as many days, and Zac Jordan had two hits as the TCU baseball team beat Manhattan 11-0 Sunday afternoon at Lupton Stadium.

The win was the Horned Frogs' third in a row over the and completed the weekend sweep of the Jaspers. TCU won 2-1 Friday night and 12-5 Saturday.

Elander, who hit a three-run homer Saturday, knocked a two-run shot to left field to give TCU a 4-0 lead in the second inning. The junior now has six home runs on the year.

Jantzen Witte had three RBI Sunday, two of which came in the third inning when the Frogs scored five runs.

Right-hander Stefan Crichton started for TCU, throwing three scoreless innings and giving up just one hit. 

Trey Teakell earned the win after throwing four scoreless innings in relief of Crichton.

The TCU offense had a combined 29 hits on the weekend after racking up 18 Saturday and 11 Sunday.

The Horned Frogs (26-15) play Oklahoma at home Tuesday night. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
