College students seem to have a reliance on caffeine to get them through lectures and late night study sessions, but there are healthier alternatives to power through the day.

    Golfers compete in R&A Amateur Championship

    TCU senior Daniel Jennevret shot an amateur course record 65 (6-under) Tuesday to take home stroke play medalist honors at the Royal & Ancient Amateur Championship at Royal Troon and Glasgow-Gailes Golf Links in Scotland. 

    Sophomore Julien Brun, a runner-up at last month's NCAA Championships, shot rounds of 70 and 71 the first finish stroke play tied for seventh. Brun is ranked 9th in R&A's world amateur rankings.
     
    The tournament moves to a match play format today and is scheduled to conclude Saturday. Nearly 300 golfers from around the world qualified for the week-long event, all vying for the lone automatic bid to next month's British Open at Royal Lytham and St. Annes Golf Club.
