TCU will host country singer Blake Shelton Thursday night at the Dee J. Kelly Alumni & Visitor’s Center lawn to celebrate the new Amon G. Carter Stadium opening and the university’s Big 12 entrance.

Concert doors will open at 7 p.m. and attendees are encouraged to arrive early to be guaranteed a spot on the lawn for standing room only.

Crowd overflow will be able to view the concert projected onto a large screen in the Kelly Center parking lot. Lawn chairs are permitted at the event but are restricted to Lot 6 between the Amon G. Carter Stadium and Kelly Center.

Students lined the sidewalks at the Dee J. Kelly Alumni Center Wednesday afternoon to receive their two wristbands to the event; one for themselves and one for a friend.

Stephanie Aviles, a sophomore finance major, waited in line for their wristbands by Stadium Drive and said she hopes Blake Shelton will perform his popular song “Honeybee.”

Opening act Tim Halperin is scheduled to perform at 8 p.m., followed by Shelton.
