TCU recruits sign letters of intent

Recruits from the class of 2013 signed their National Letter of Intent to play for TCU Wednesday. Men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and volleyball announced additions to their rosters. Wednesday started the early signing period which will continue for the next week. Here is a quick look at the most recent additions to the teams.

Men’s basketball

The men’s basketball program brought in one of its best recruiting classes in program history ranking as high as No. 23 nationally.  Rivals.com ranked Center Karviar Shepherd the No. 3 center in the class of 2013.

Brandon Parrish: 6’ 6”, forward, Texas, Seguin High School

Karviar Shepherd: 6’ 10”, center, Dallas, Prime Prep Academy

Michael Williams: 6’ 2”, guard, San Antonio, Ronald Reagan High School

Women’s basketball

The women’s basketball team signed two four-star recruits, including two players ranked in the top 100 nationally by ESPNU. All five signees are from Texas.

A.J. Alix: 5’ 6”, point guard, Bellaire, Bellaire High School

Jada Butts: 5’ 8”, guard/Forward, Lewsiville, Lewisville High School

Klara Bradshaw: 6’ 6”, center, Emory, Rains High School

Janay Keys: 6’ 1”, forward, Arlington, Lamar High School

Carol Willie: 6’ 2”, center, Houston, Cypress High School

Baseball

The TCU baseball team signed 14 athletes, including seven pitchers and two junior college transfers.

Jordan Kipper: 6’ 4”, right handed pitcher, Pheonix, Ariz., Mount Pointe High School (transfer from Central Arizona Community College)

Garrett Crain: 6’ 0”, infielder, Mustang, Okla., Edmond Santa Fe High School (transfer from Rose State (Oklahoma) College)

Volleyball

Volleyball signed four women during the early signing period. They brought in talent from Missouri and Texas.

Regan McGuire: 6’ 2”: middle blocker, Flower Mound, Edward S. Marcus High School

Shane Peters: 5’ 5”, defensive specialist/libero, Plano, Plano West Senior High School
