The Horned Frogs (7-9) will host Kansas State (10-7) Saturday evening in hopes of avenging a 58-59 loss in the closing seconds of the Jan. 5 contest.

TCU took a 58-54 lead in the closing minutes courtesy of a corner three from freshman Zahna Medley, who ended the game with 12 points.

But Kansas State’s freshman guard Bri Craig pulled the Wildcats to within a point with a late three. The Wildcats then forced a turnover and junior Chantay Caron hit the go-ahead bucket with five seconds remaining in the game.

Craig finished the game with 14 points while Kansas State guard Haley Texada led all scorers with 22 points and four assists.

Head coach Jeff Mittie and the Frogs hope for another productive game from junior Latricia Lovings who finished the Jan. 5 game with a career best 16 points along with 16 rebounds.

Saturday will be head coach Deb Patterson and the Wildcats' first trip to Daniel-Meyer Coliseum. Before the Jan. 5 game in Manhattan, KS, the two sides have only met one other time on a neutral court in the 1999 Women’s Sports Foundation Basketball Classic, which TCU won.

TCU is still in search of their first Big 12 victory. The Frogs come in to this matchup 0-5 in conference play after suffering a defeat in Morgantown against West Virginia on Jan. 15.

Kansas State’s only Big 12 win thus far was the Jan. 5 victory against TCU. The Wildcats (1-4 in conference) will try to recover from a 90-69 loss to the visiting Baylor Lady Bears.

The Saturday matchup is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum.
