Club lacrosse team beats Baylor

Club lacrosse team beats Baylor

The university club lacrosse team won its fourth straight game this past weekend with a 10-2 win over Baylor.

David Carlton, the team president and a senior political science major, said he expected TCU to beat Baylor by more than just eight goals. He said he believed a reason TCU scored less goals than anticipated was because of injuries to key players.

He also said he wants the team to focus more on its offensive attack for upcoming games. While the team scored six goals in the first quarter, it scored the final four goals throughout the rest of the game.

“We needed to do a better job of possessing the ball and controlling the clock,” Carlton said.

Carlton said he was pleased with the defense because plays were carried out well and Baylor was only held to two scores.

The university club lacrosse team looks to continue its winning streak with two home games this weekend. The team will take on Oklahoma on Saturday and Texas State on Sunday.

Carlton said Texas State will be the team's biggest competition this weekend. The Bobcats have also played an undefeated season so far.

Carlton said he expects the game will be close, but TCU will finish with a win against Texas State. With the Sooners playing their first game of the year Saturday, Carlton said he is not sure what to expect from Oklahoma.

The game against Oklahoma begins at 2 p.m. Saturday, while the Texas State game begins at 12 p.m. Sunday. Both games will be held at the intramural fields.
