The bats came alive for the Horned Frogs in Lubbock as TCU collected its first-ever series win in Big 12 conference play as TCU beat the Texas Tech Red Raiders 7-3.

Every starter for TCU hit a minimum of one hit and six players tallied at least one RBI.

The bats burst to life with Cody Jones' leadoff single to start the game. After a balk and sacrifice, Jantzen Witte brought him home for a 1-0 TCU lead.

Texas Tech responded in the bottom half of the first inning though, as two walks and a Jake Barrios RBI single gave the Red Raiders a 2-1 advantage.

Not to be outdone, TCU responded in the top of the second with two more runs. Keaton Jones set up the inning with a single and scored on a Boomer White double. After Witte reached first on a walk, Paul Hendrix scored White on a single.

TCU extended its lead in the sixth. Davy Wright went to first on a hit-by-pitch, then advanced to third on a hit and run play by Jerrick Suiter. After a Keaton Jones RBI groundout and a Kyle Bacak single, the Horned Frogs led 5-2.

TCU added on two more runs for insurance in the eighth. After a single, a walk and a wild pitch, runners were set on second and third for Brett Johnson, who hit a two-run RBI single to right to give the Frogs a 7-2 lead.

Texas Tech would collect a walk and three singles in the ninth before the Frogs forced a Nelson Randolph groundout, giving the Frogs a 7-3 victory.

Next up for TCU, Andrew Mitchell will take the hill tomorrow for TCU for the second time this season. The 11-15 Frogs will seek their fourth win in conference play and the team's first sweep of the year.

First pitch in Dan Law Stadium is slated for 1:30 p.m.
