TCU football releases end-of-spring depth chart

TCU's newest depth chart has been released and has not formally decided a starting quarterback.

The chart shows Trevone Boykin "OR" Casey Pachall are listed as the starting quarterback. Patterson said he has "until August to decide", despite Pachall seeing a majority of first-team snaps in spring practices.

Protecting them on the inside offensive line will be Jamelle Naff at right guard, Eric Tausch at center and Joey Hunt at left guard. Michael Thompson is listed as a backup to Naff and Brady Foltz, the younger brother of former player Blaize Foltz, is listed as the backup to Hunt.

Aviante Collins and Tayo Fabuluje are listed as the offensive tackles for the team.

Transfers Ju'Juan Story and Josh Doctson are listed as backup receivers to returning starter Cam White. LaDarius Brown, David Porter and Brandon Carter are listed as the other starting wide receivers.

Stephen Bryant, who is coming off of injury, is listed as the starting tight end, replacing graduating tight end Corey Fuller. Gilbert Griffin is listed as the backup.

No starting running back has been named either. The chart lists Waymon James, Jordan Moore, Aaron Green or B.J. Catalon as TCU's starting tailback.

Green and Catalon were the only two healthy running backs in the spring, as James is recovering from ACL surgery and Moore is recovering from a leg injury. Four-star running back Kyle Hicks and incoming recruit Trevorris Johnson will join the running back corps in the fall as well.

Defensively, Joel Hasley and Marcus Mallett are the listed starting linebackers. Jonathan Anderson and Paul Dawson, two linebackers Patterson said have to improve, are listed as the first backups at the position.

Senior Jon Koontz is listed at defensive end, replacing Stansly Maponga, who declared for the NFL draft. Koontz will play the opposite side of Devonte Fields, who is the other starting defensive end.

TCU's secondary has not changed from the end of last season, as TCU returns all starters from last year's secondary. LSU transfer David Jenkins is listed as a backup cornerback.

Deante' Gray will serve TCU as the punt returner and kick returner. Patterson said earlier this year that Carter, James and Verrett may see some time in the position as well.
