TCU ties for 11th at Ping/ASU invitational

The No. 53 TCU women’s golf team had its best final round score of the season, but tied for 11th place in Tempe, Ariz. Sunday.
 
Entering the final round of play at the Ping/ASU Invitational, the Frogs were in 8th place after a 3-under 285 score Saturday, marking the best score since the final-round finish of 284 back in the 2011 Mountain West Conference Championships. TCU finished ahead of four schools ranked within the top 50.
 
Sophomore Alexandra Bonetti led the Frogs in individual competition with a one-under par and score of 215, resulting in a tie for 17th place. During the tournament, Bonetti earned her first sub-70 round of her career.
 
Sanna Nuutinen posted the final round score of 72. Freshman Maria Maymon recorded a team-best four birdies on the day, 3 of which were on the back 9, finishing with a 75.
 
No. 3 Alabama won the invitational and recorded a 19-under-par finish with a total score of 845, while No. 1 USC finished in fifth place with 863.
 
Freshman Emma Talley from the University of Alabama won the overall individual competition with a 207.
 
TCU will compete at the Big 12 Championship in Rhodes, Iowa beginning April 19.
