Kwanza Johnson to leave Georgia to coach men’s basketball at TCU

Kwanza Johnson to leave Georgia to coach mens basketball at TCU

University of Georgia men's basketball coach Kwanza Johnson has resigned from his position and accepted a position at TCU on coach Trent Johnson's staff, according to reports in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and The Red & Black.

TCU Sports Information Director Mark Cohen said that the TCU Athletics Department has not made any official announcement regarding a men's basketball hire.

Johnson will fill the vacant position created by assistant coach Alvin "Pooh" Williamson when he left TCU for Texas Tech in April.

Johnson spent the last four seasons at Georgia under head coach Mark Fox. Before coaching at Georgia, Johnson worked with Fox for three seasons at The University of Nevada. TCU head coach Trent Johnson preceeded Fox as head coach at Nevada from 2000-2004.

Kwanza Johnson is not listed on TCU's coaching staff at the time of this writing, but his job position is open on Georgia's website.
