TCU will start the season with a No. 20 preseason ranking in the USA Today coaches’ poll.

The poll, released this morning, ranked Alabama as No. 1, with Ohio State, Oregon, Stanford and Georgia following the Crimson Tide.

TCU is one of four Big 12 schools in the rankings, with No. 14 Oklahoma State, No. 15 Texas and No. 16 Oklahoma making it onto the list. Baylor and Kansas State were others receiving votes.

The poll is made up of 62 head coaches from FBS schools. Mike Gundy of Oklahoma State, Kliff Kingsbury of Texas Tech, Bob Stoops of Oklahoma, Art Briles of Baylor and Dana Holgorsen of West Virginia are the head coaches from the Big 12 who have a vote in the poll.

TCU head coach Gary Patterson does not vote in the coaches' poll.
