Women’s Swimming and Diving remains undefeated in Big 12

The TCU women’s swimming and diving team remains undefeated in the Big 12 (2-0) after defeating Iowa State, 160.5-139.5, on Friday afternoon. The Horned Frogs beat the Cyclones in the first dual meet between the teams in program history.

TCU won eight event titles in the meet, capped by a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Julie Grace Sanders, Mackenzie Schuler, Hannah Briant and Mikayla Winkler combined for a 3:29.81 in the event helping the team secure a victory.

Sophomore transfer Lyndsie Gibson won a pair of events, winning the 100-yard backstroke (57.62) and 200-yard backstroke (2:03.00). Junior Ali Bleasdell placed first in the 200-yard IM (2:06.14) while freshman Hannelore Strash won the 100-yard butterfly (56.42). Sophomore Catherine Rash added a first-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly with a 2:04.39 while Winkler won the 200-yard freestyle with a 1:52.41.

In the diving competition, Kristen Connolly paced the Horned Frogs, winning the 1-meter competition with a 278.48 while also finishing second on the 3-meter board (281.17).

TCU returns to action on Nov. 21-23, traveling to College Station, Texas for the Aggie Invitational.
