TCU Women’s Basketball opened the regular season at home with an 87-64 win over Houston Baptist.
HBU put the Horned Frogs on their heels early with an aggressive full court press, leading by as many as seven points early on.
However, the Huskies wouldn’t have the lead for long.
TCU stormed back and ended the first half by outscoring HBU 42-15. The Frogs went into the locker room up 54-28.
The Frogs defense frustrated the Huskies by causing a total of 22 turnovers and grabbing 44 total rebounds.
Junior guard Zahna Medley led the Frogs with 22 points and four rebounds, while senior forward Chelsea Prince recorded a double-double – scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
The Frogs only shot 40.6% from the field, but dominated at the free-throw line with a mark of 71.1%.
The Huskies shot 36.9% from the field and compiled a free-throw percentage of 46.4%.
The Horned Frogs are back in action at Georgia on Sunday, November 16th. TCU returns home vs. SMU on Wednesday, November 19th at noon.
