TCU Student Activities has already sold more holiday shirts than last year.
A new “Holidays at TCU” t-shirt is available for pre-order online only. The t-shirts have been promoted through email and What2Do@TCU. Orders started on Nov. 11 and will continue through Nov. 21 at 5 p.m.
The t-shirts are navy blue and have long sleeves. This year, there will be three options of material.
Adult sizes will be available in Premium Comfort Colors brand and Basic Port & Company brand, and youth sizes will be Heavyweight Port & Company brand. Port & Company shirts cost $15 and Comfort Colors cost $25.
The shirt design is centered on the tagline “Be Merry and Bright.” Lauren Hawkins, a junior entrepreneurial management major, designed this year’s shirt.
“This design was actually the last version I came up with,” Hawkins said. “I’m pleased with how it turned out.”
Last year, TCU sold around 575 shirts, said Director of Student Activities Kim Turner.
“Right now, we have sold approximately 875 shirts,” Turner said.
TCU Student Activities makes a new holiday t-shirt design available each year. The shirt is being promoted as “a great gift for family and friends,” according to What2Do@TCU.
“I hope everyone enjoys the shirt,” Hawkins said. “But more importantly, I hope that everyone takes time this year to enjoy the season.”
T-shirts ordered before Nov. 14 can be picked up at the BLUU Information Desk beginning Dec. 2 at noon. All t-shirts ordered after Nov. 14 will be available the week of Dec. 8.
Student Activities will not ship any of the holiday t-shirts.
“Selling holiday shirts is something we consider a service to the student body,” Turner said. “It also helps support, through marketing and income, the cost of the programmatic side of the annual Christmas Tree Lighting.”
