The two emergency call poles in the Worth Hills parking lots are out of service due to the construction on Brachman Hall. Student concern for safety is rising due to these outages.

Sophomore Zoe Chambers, who is living in Marion Hall, said that the possibility of outages was not discussed during her move-in meeting.

“After the recent attack right on campus, God knows how easy it would be to attack someone in the greek…especially with the emergency pole outages,” Chambers said.

The operating poles closest to the Worth Hills residences are either the intramural field location or the intersection of Stadium Drive and Bellaire Drive North location.

The outages may affect baseball fans parking in the Worth Hills parking lot.

Fort Worth resident Hayley Byk said that the baseball games increase the possibility for the use of emergency call poles.

“If someone had an emergency and the poles didn’t work, I feel like there could be chaos and additional danger,” Byk said.

Pamela Christian, TCU crime prevention officer, said that there is a weekly inspection of all of the emergency call poles, and that the Worth Hills poles will be inspected and serviced to fix the outages.
